A Brilliant Green New Deal Video

The Internet is burning up with a wonderful graphic video endorsing the Green New Deal.  The video illustrates the many positive things we can do to save our planet from extinction.  I think it got over 4 million hits on the first day!  The video is narrated by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and drawn by the award winning artist, Molly Crabapple.  A must watch!

Spring’s Slow Arrival

Maine, like most of the country is subject to fluctuating temperatures. Just when we think spring has fully arrived she goes into hiding, allowing chilly weather to take over. Still we’re experiencing more spring days than not. This bunch of sprightly daffodils on my window table puts a smile on my face every time every time I glance at them.

Kate and Oscar

A few days ago I snapped this photo of Kate and her beloved 12 year-old poodle, Oscar.  Kate came out of retirement to lead my church’s Sunday school program.  Last Sunday the children under her charge treated us to a short pageant depicting Jesus’ celebratory arrival in Jerusalem.  Oscar stole the show in his donkey costume of gray donkey ears and a grey sweatshirt. What’s more he was better behaved than his restless co-stars!

Poor Cuba

My heart goes out to Cuba who has suffered immeasurable financial hardships from the long-standing US embargo. Now nasty, evil Pompeo has introduced new economic penalties to punish Cuba for supporting Venezuela.  I’ve visited Cuba twice. Each time I was deeply impressed with how the Cubans maintain their good will under crippling economic conditions.

Change of Pace

To take my mind off the gloomy and often scary news I’ve been watching season three of  “Queer Eye” on Netflix.  Five gay guys meet up with a man or woman to guide them in a new wardrobe, becoming hairstyle and home décor along with emotional support.  The result is a happy client with a new self-confidence. Smiles all around.
