The Craziness Mounts
Egads, what a scary week: pipe bombs delivered to Trump’s major targets while he responds by blaming “fake news” rather than recognizing his hate speech is the real impetus for the growing hate in our country—but what else is new? Spiritual Relief
In my class, “Women and Aging” we discussed and shared our resources for spiritual grounding. I’ve attached a copy of the class-generated list for a spiritual took box. I find it helpful to share spiritual tools in our spiritually deficient times.
Emerging as a Bad Patient
I had a follow-up appointment to check on my fractured foot. I was read the riot act for being on my foot too much, stalling its healing. That got my attention. No more running errands on my own, instead getting friends to help out and elevating my foot as much as possible. Here’s hoping I’m stronger by Thanksgiving when my family visits!
A New Netflix Series
In my down time, I’m reading a lot and streaming movies and TV series. I’m riveted to the new BBC spy series, “Body Guard” on Netflix. I was sorely disappointed in the new Amazon Prime series “The Romanoffs,” developed by “Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner—lots of gloss with little substance.
A Weekend Peace Guest
Saturday I’m hosting Medea Benjamin of Codepink fame who will be in Portland as a guest of Peace Action Maine to talk about her new book on Iran. “Inside Iran.” I look forward to learning more about Iran and to Medea’s company.
